Place Based Approaches to Social Disadvantage is an interesting issue for evaluators. Often, a government department may commission an evaluation to determine the impact of one single program delivered by different service providers. There are initiatives where a backbone organisation receives government funding to facilitate social change across multiple government agencies supporting the location with a range of services. The evaluation question emerges, evaluate what and for whom? Evaluators need to extend their thinking to address the needs of Place Based Approaches to Social Disadvantage.
