When a building or complex is complete and the keys are handed over to the new owners, it is anticipated that post occupancy evaluation will be conducted one year later. In 2016, the Australian government provided seed funding to QUT and the Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment to develop a mobile application to allow facilities, schools, teachers and students to evaluate the usefulness of its facilities after one year. The purpose is to then improve future building design principles. The final report is available at ResearchGate under the profile of Dr Lyn Alderman.
